MBBS seat to a wheel chaired boy: Punjab and Haryana high court
Giving wings to the dream of a wheelchaired Boy, Punjab and haryana high court did its best.
The petitioner wanted to take admission in the government medical college, Chandigarh. It was held that the college restricted his admission saying that he was medically unfit. The boy approached Punjab and Haryana high court and filed a petition against the college for admission saying that he is fully capable for the medical studies and has capabilities of becoming a doctor.
A bench of justice Mahesh Grover and justice mahabir Singh Sindhu was setup for considering the case. The case was referred to PGIMER, Chandigarh which did all its best and found that the boy was only physically disabled with less strength in his muscles which dose not support him in walking, standing and holding the objects. But he was mentally all fine and is capable of taking admission in a medical college.
The petitioner also got a certificate for the same from one of the prescribed college situated in New Delhi, named as Vardhman mahavir medical college, safdarjung hospital.
In the present time, the boy got seat under the physically disabled quota of NEET(UG).
Evidently, the boy succeeded and stepped forward for achieving his goals with the justice provided to him by the high court.
